During my time in Washington D.C I had the chance to volunteer
with Casa Ruby a Non-profit Multicultural LGBT Center for queer people, Gender
Non Conforming Safe Space in Washington DC. It was such a humbling experience being
able to support the LGBT community. I grew up in a very conservative home so
when I started to interact with other individuals who consider themselves gay or
lesbian was very interesting. I was able to hear stories about what they go
through, their daily struggles to being accepted by society. I was surprise with these individuals, they are kind, smart, and humble. They are not trying to harm anyone, they just want to be accepted by society. May God Bless their path and Journey.
